SDA2: Modeling trans-ionospheric radio signal propagation

The evaluation of SDA2 is based on the performance analysis of selected propagation models, run in different conditions. Two models based on the concept of ray launching have been selected: a numerical model solving the Haselgrove equations in range and MQP (Multiple Quasi-Parabolic) technique consisting in an analytic resolution of the propagation equation in a canonical EDP (Electron Density Profile) described by a series of parabola. Both methods are currently used in the open literature. To test these methods, a workflow is proposed, allowing for comparisons in canonical configurations and comparisons to data.
